Ingredients
500gFresh wheat noodles
5clovesGarlicminced
200gBean sprouts
1Onionsliced
2Scallionswhites and greens separated, sliced
2tbspBrown sugar
1tbspSesame oil
2tbspOyster sauce
1tbspShaoxing wine
2tbspDark soy sauce
Instructions
Cook the fresh wheat noodles according to package instructions until they are just al dente.Drain and rinse the noodles under cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent them from sticking together. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, sesame oil, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and dark soy sauce until well combined. Set aside.
Heat some oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat.Add the minced garlic, sliced onion, and the white parts of the scallions. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and the onions are translucent.
Add the bean sprouts to the wok and continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes until they are slightly softened but still crisp.
Add the cooked noodles to the wok, tossing them with the aromatics and bean sprouts until well combined.Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the sauce. Add the remaining sliced green parts of the scallions. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Once the noodles are heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the wok from the heat.Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade Chow Mein!

Feel free to customize this Chow Mein recipe by adding your favorite proteins such as chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu for a heartier meal. Simply cook the protein of your choice separately before adding it to the stir-fried noodles in Step 5.
